The alignment of learning in schools to set curricula has always been important; the issue is acquiring even more importance currently in Australia through several related developments: • The availability of digital learning resources in large quantities, and the desire of teachers to use a variety of resources, rather than a fixed set of curriculum-aligned textbooks as in the past. • The need of content publishers to address the learning requirements of multiple markets, each potentially with its own curriculum. • The increased mobility of students between jurisdictions with different curricula. Driven in part by these needs, the Australian Government is establishing a National Curriculum through a consultative process. This curriculum will coexist with jurisdiction curricula for some time, and both kinds of curriculum exist in a digital environment, where lessons are planned and learning resources are discoveredonline. Curricula need to be embedded in these online processes, if they are to beharnessed effectively.

Overheidsgegevens en data moeten vrijelijk beschikbaar zijn, dat is de mondiale trend. Nederland heeft daarin nog een lange weg te gaan. TNO maakt in opdracht van het Ministerie van Binnenlandse Zaken en Koninkrijksrelaties een overzicht van de ervaringen met ‘Open Overheid’-beleid van zes landen: de Verenigde Staten, het Verenigd Koninkrijk, Australië, Denemarken, Spanje en Estland. Vervolgens trekt TNO in een uitgebreid rapport lessen uit deze internationale ervaringen voor mogelijke beleidsactiviteiten in Nederland.

Zoeken en arrangeren met leerlijnen - SLO, nationaal expertisecentrum leerplanontwikkeling
Verkennende studie in opdracht van het programma 'Stimuleren gebruik digitaal leermateriaal'. In deze verkennende studie is ingegaan op de vraag hoe docenten ondersteund kunnen worden in het zoeken, arrangeren en metadateren van leermiddelen met behulp van leerlijnen. Voor het onderzoek is een demo-omgeving ontwikkeld waarin als voorbeeld een drietal leerlijnen is uitgewerkt. Voor het primair onderwijs (po) is de leerlijn rekenen uit Tule uitgewerkt, voor het middelbaar beroepsonderwijs (mbo) is het referentiekader taal gebruikt en voor het voortgezet onderwijs (vo) is het vak Engels op basis van het Europees Referentiekader als voorbeeld genomen. Het onderzoek is uitgevoerd bij 26 docenten in po, mbo en vo. De resultaten zijn veelbelovend: de deelnemende docenten zien bijna allemaal een meerwaarde in het gebruik van leerlijnen voor zoeken, arrangeren en metadateren van leermiddelen op de wijze zoals dat in de demo-omgeving is uitgewerkt."

The open educational resource (OER) movement has the potential to have a truly transformative effect on higher education, but in order to do so it must move into the mainstream and facilitate widespread participation in the sharing or creating of resources and in their reuse. To help in this process, experience can be gained from projects and initiatives which have acted as forerunners to this movement. Here we present the experiences gained and lessons learnt from one such project based around the open sharing of reusable learning objects in health sciences education. In particular we share our experiences of reuse, its patterns, measurement, drivers, barriers, and tools designed to balance the pedagogical tensions between use and reuse. Like many in the OER movement we promote an emphasis on the role of community-building. We also argue that in order to produce materials that are worth sharing, value must firstly be placed on developing materials suitable for primary use, including robust evaluation and an alignment to real-world learning needs. Lastly, unlike the prevailing trends in OER we urge a consideration of quality assurance and outline the role that it can play in promoting sharing and reuse.

The work reported here forms part of a UK Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC) funded project (BL4ACE) (http://bl4ace.tvu.ac.uk/). This project built on previous work that evaluated the effectiveness of a learning design to underpin academic competence in a Business Studies degree. A significant concern of the blended learning design was to scaffold independent learning activities by incorporating and reusing interactive Reusable Learning Objects (RLOs) within a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). This paper reports on improvements in learner experience and performance following the transfer of the established Business Studies learning design across subject domains to a Science module. It reports on the enhancement of both modules by reusing and repurposing existing RLOs from other Institutions, and evaluates the experiences of both Business and Science students using the support provided through the interactive learning materials.

Leerdoelgestuurd onderwijs planningsinstrument - Ons vraagstuk richt zich daarentegen op het ontwikkelen van een functionele elektronische leeromgeving, waarbij de leerdoelen als uitgangspunt worden genomen. Daarbij behoeven bestaande curricula en methoden niet overboord te worden gegooid, maar kunnen worden geïntegreerd. De bedoelde elektronische leeromgeving heeft bovendien een functie in de vormgeving van nieuwe vormen van leren zoals ontwikkelingsgericht onderwijs en leren binnen uitdagende en betekenisvolle leersituaties.

Opvallend onopvallend bevat de nieuwsbrief die Apple regelmatig rondstuurt naar zijn abonnees een aantal karakteristieke details. Algemeen bekend is de zogenaamde "hero shot", de stoere pose waarin de producten van Apple vaak worden weergegeven. Maar wat te denken van de wildgroei aan mogelijke doorkliks en krachttermen? Tijd om de nieuwsbrief eens goed te ontleden!Weblog Flowtown analyseerde een groot aantal van de nieuwsbrieven die Apple in 2010 verstuurde en kwam tot de onderstaande analyse.
