Op 6 april 2010 heeft de Tweede Kamer de Wet 'referentieniveaus Nederlandse taal en rekenen' aangenomen Op deze website de letterlijke tekst van het rapport Meijerink in de versie 'nadere beschouwing' (juli 2009), die ongewijzigd in de wet is opgenomen. De website maakt het mogelijk eenvoudige vergelijkingen uit te voeren tussen de F- en de S- niveaus.

In 2008 is voor de derde maal onderzoek gedaan naar het didactisch handelen in hetbasisonderwijs en de rol van ict hierbij. Dit is gebeurd op verzoek van Kennisnet. Ditrapport bevat de verantwoording van het onderzoeksinstrument en een overzicht vande resultaten op leraar- en schoolniveau. De procedure bij dataverzameling en terug-koppeling naar scholen wordt beschreven. Voor het eerst is via verdiepende statisti-sche analyses ingegaan op de samenhangen tussen de diverse factoren en de matewaarin deze het didactisch handelen van leraren voorspellen. Dit leidt tot inzicht in dewisselwerking tussen kenmerken en opvattingen van leraren en de wijze waarop zehun onderwijs inrichten. In aparte bijlagen kan de geïnteresseerde lezer tabellen raad-plegen die de verzamelde gegevens voor het basisonderwijs weergeven.In de jaarlijkse Vier in Balans Monitor 2008 van Kennisnet is gebruik gemaakt vangegevens uit dit onderzoek.

"De kennisbasis van de overige vakken voor het PO staat online. Zo ook de generieke kennisbasis waar ik samen met collega’s van andere Pabo’s aan heb gewerkt. Ik heb hierbij vooral gekeken naar de inbreng van ICT. Uitgangspunt hierbij waren de documenten die ik de loop van de tijd heb geschreven en op mijn blog heb gepubliceerd. Ik ben erg benieuwd naar de reacties van collega’s op het model dat we als generieke kennisbasis hebben ontwikkeld en de manier waarop ICT hierin is opgenomen."

Well, it was an interesting week in the USA. One in which President Obama pledged in an editorial in the Wall Street Journal to put in place a new directive that a government-wide review of the rules already on the books to "remove outdated regulations that stifle job creation and make our economy less competitive." And then just a little later in the week the announcement from the Department of Labor and Department of Education of a potentially groundbreaking program for Community Colleges and Open Educational Resources (OER) - TAACCCT - that contains within it a clear violation of the President's new mandate - namely that something called SCORM - a government controlled and regulated standard that is about ten years behind the industry - be the required format for content developed in the program.

educational knowledge – is comprised of teachers’ concurrent and interdependent curriculum
content, general pedagogy, and technological understanding. Teachers’ planning – which
expresses teachers’ knowledge-in-action in pragmatic ways -- is situated, contextually
sensitive, routinized, and activity-based. To assist with the development of teachers’ TPACK,
therefore, we suggest using what is understood from research about teachers’ knowledge and
instructional planning to form an approach to curriculum-based technology integration that is
predicated upon the combining of technologically supported learning activity types within and
across content-keyed activity type taxonomies. In this chapter, we describe such a TPACK
development method. -

Nieuw: Handboek vakdidactiek maatschappijleer (IPP-Nieuwsbrief sept 2010)
Bij het IPP is deze zomer een boek verschenen waarop docenten maatschappijleer lang hebben gewacht: het Handboek vakdidactiek maatschappijleer.
Het boek telt 457 pagina’s en richt zich op docenten en studenten aan lerarenopleidingen maatschappijleer. Voor beide groepen ontbrak tot nu toe een boek waarin de belangrijkste inzichten over de didactiek van maatschappijleer bij elkaar staan. Het boek behandelt een aantal kwesties rond het leren van maatschappijleer. Bijvoorbeeld: leerlingen komen altijd met bepaalde voorkennis en opvattingen de les binnen - hoe kunnen docenten maatschappijleer daarmee leren omgaan? Hoe behandel je gevoelige onderwerpen in de klas? Hoe pak je waarde-educatie aan? Hoe vermijd je dat je eigen politieke voorkeur als docent een te grote rol speelt in de klas? Hoe kun je ervoor zorgen dat er niet alleen wordt geleerd voor de toets, maar dat het leren betekenisvoller wordt en de kennis later gebruikt kan worden in nieuwe situaties?
Naast de wat meer theoretische hoofdstukken bevat het boek een groot aantal praktische werkvormen, een hoofdstuk waarin de docent kan lezen hoe je een goede toets maakt en opdrachten waarmee leraren in opleiding hun voordeel kunnen doen.
